We recently heard that Rick Murphy, a longtime supporter and colleague of our team at TopQuadrant, as well a staunch support of Semantic Web technologies , has been selected to chair the AIC Reference Model Maintenance Process Organization.
About a year ago, Rick sponsored TopQuadrant to develop a representation of the Federal Enterprise Architecture in OWL. The (version 1) result can be found at http://www.osera.gov/owl/2004/11/fea/FEA.owl. Of course, like any version 1, we have a long list of changes we'd like to see done, but it is pretty useful even as it is. We're pretty optimistic about the future of Semantic Web technologies in the federal government, based on Rick's recognition.
